Update...
Just to let everyone know. I tried a 50shot, ran it for awhile. No problem.

Seems safe with a 50 shot!

... Then I tried a 75 shot and blew the dam thing Whoops!

Yep, I bet he blew it...

The problem was not the NOS alone but the combination of USED tires and NOS...never a good combo.

Actually, I think it was only a few months. Post #34 in this thread:

https://rennlist.com/forums/performa...eir-996-a.html

He first asked about it in July and posted the sad aftermath in October. The part I like is how it survived for a while on a 50 shot, so that amount must be OK.

Too bad he didn't post any pics of the demise ... could've been spectacular.

These guys are a hoot to read about... Always a great laugh seeing someone do something risky and watch him fall on their face. Kinda like the entertainment of some bright jackass eating a ghost pepper. All acting like they're a stud and "it doesn't hurt"... then moments later the toxins react with the body... and then they're crying like a baby while everyone laughs their butt off. hahaha

Well, my advice is that if these guys want to taste the wine for poison, more power to them!

Pretty much. Add it to the data bank as a statistic.

Actually, I applaud the explorers and risk takers. That's knowledge gained.

The timid settlers watched the scouts to see who came back with arrows in their backs. That's how you knew the direction you didn't want to go

In all seriousness, while some ideas are patently stupid, other ideas are less so. It takes a few innovators to explore the limits. How many motors did Jake go through developing his M96 engine program? Charles on his cylinder relining process? Many others have developed the products and processes we use every day. Had there been an internet back then I'm sure the forums would have had the same comments.

I'm sure a forum discussing the Wright brothers and their attempts at flight would have been a quite amusing read....up to the point they actually flew.
