I was reading the thread about all the young guys who have P-cars, etc. Now, here is my question for all the younger or older players, do you meet more girls when you have a P-car and you are young? Just the curiosity of an old fart!

David: It has not really done much for me. I think I have to start hanging around places with young girls and parking right out front. I am not sure that is why I was asking about the experiences of all the younger P-car drivers!

My wife told me was a disadvantage... in other words, her girl friends in college would usually avoid the guys in the flashy cars. Typical or not, I don't know, but they seemed to concidered most young high-end car owners to be full of themselves...
Of course - my bride fell for me when I had two P-cars (both old cars, however, and that was years after college) so you never can tell!

My wife said that most girls don't know what the hell a 996 is. They pretty much have to walk around and look at the badge before they know it's a Porsche. She continued on to indicate that to really impress a girl with your car, it was a much surer bet with a nice Bimmer or Benz and not a p-car.
All I know for sure is when I showed her pix of a C2, a C4S, a TT, a GT-2, and a GT-3 right after another (& some side by side), her only comment was that they all look pretty much alike!

They all do look pretty much the same. Some have wider flares, bigger spoilers, different wheels, etc, but they are all built on the same platform. Just like the 993's all basically look the same, the 964's all basically look the same and the Carrera's all basically look the same.
IMO, they all look great.

Beautiful new 1963 maroon T-bird.
I noticed that any new or fancy car, but especially sports cars, attrached a bevy of young teeny-boppers at the local gathering place, the Dash-in. But it seemed to me that my somewhat more conservative T-bird attracted a higher, slightly older, quality of "ladies".
40 years later I'm still very happily married to one of those.

In response to "most don't know what a 996 is" - I disagree... It seems to me that any 911, from the beginning, has a special sort of unique look that sets it far apart from other cars.
I'd think that to most people a Bimmer is just another 4 door car.
I know this is going off the origional topic, but I bet if you showed a group of 4 year olds a five thousand dollar 912 and asked them to compare it to a brand new, top of the line Benz - they'll all say the 912 Rocks!

In CA or AZ maybe, but not in Bellingham!
Unless by "functional" you mean the ability to get the top back up quickly and easily when the rain returns.

Actually parts of B'ham are in the "banana belt." Chuckanut mountain, over looking the San Juan Islands, sunset, use your imagination.
