I thinks thats a good deal (the 69k buy it now price) for an 01' 996 w/ low miles and those options. I love those seats.
What do you guys think?

Looks very clean. I've always liked it in yellow. Most people might just assume it's an actual GT3, but here are the immediate tipoffs that it's not (and I'm being pretty **** here).
- Suspension is too high. It looks like a stock US C2 suspension.
- The rear wing is missing the black spolier lip. Most people trying to make their cars look like a GT3 miss that detail. <img src="http://www.carclassic.com/images4/CZ66/CZ66-3.jpg" alt=" - " /> Actually, never mind, it looks like the owner painted the black lip yellow.
- GT3 never had rear bumperettes.
- GT3 never came with sunroofs.
- I'm pretty certain that the GT3 didn't come with rear windshield wiper.
- GT3 console delete missing.
- Engine air intake on the wrong side of the rear engine cover and missing airbox. Not to mention the standard 996 engine sitting in the engine bay.
- Missing front center radiator (has painted plastic covering center hole).
- GT3's also don't have wiring for front door speakers so the door panels should have pockets and not speakers.
- It doesn't have GT3 headers as the seller claims it does as they won't fit on a 996 C2.
- GT3's don't have PSM.
Whoever put this car together spent a lot of money. I wonder if it was done @ By Design in LA.
It's tough to say if it's a good deal for $70k. If a 996C2 is really what you want, this is a pretty clean car to get. Were it me, I would pay no more than $5k over the market value of an '01 996 for this car because after all you could just buy a cheaper C2 and do the mods you want, the way you want them.
But if you can stretch it and have the means I would just wait about 6 months for the GT3's to drop in price and grab one of those.
I love this quote from the seller:
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">
Remember, the GT3 is comming out this year and they are already selling for close to $50,000 over list. Why wait and pay nearly $160,000 for the same car when you can own this one today for nearly half of that!
</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Let's be honest, it's not the same car as an '03 GT3.

Very nice car yes, GT3... far from it...IMO.
I personally have a stunning '01 996 Arctic Silver Metallic/Boxster Red full leather, PSM, with GT3 seats w/logo, colored crest wheel caps, 18" turbo look rims, clear side markers, third radiator, 6 point Shroth/Brey-Krause harness system, H&R coil over kit and GT3 adjustable swaybars and drop links, Porsche sport exhaust and RUF short shift kit(50%), Rennline pedals, Pagid Orange pads and ATE fluid, Michelin Pilot Sport Cups (225F, 285R), 3M invisible bra, 4-corner balanced/lowered/aligned to GT3 specs.
I DE the car about 15 days a year in addition to it being my almost daily driver.
As awesome as the car is, and the regional Porsche reps tell me there is probably not a car like it in the US, it's not even close to the GT3 in terms of light weight and power. The suspension and motor (3.6L) are superior in the GT3.
I personally covet the GT3 Cup car and hope to have one in a few years.
I don't even think a "special Chassis" exists that his advtg. mentioned and he paid about 10x what steel braided brake lines cost.

I just posted it for you guys to see, thought somebody might be intrested. At first I thought he was making it out to be a real GT3 when I found the link, kept going through the pics and description thinking somethings not right here!?!
We might be getting an 996 at the end of this summer though. Used to have an awsome 993. I'm looking at 02'-03' Mountaineers w/ the 4.6 V8 so that we can swap an 03' Cobra engine into it and go from there for mods...including bolting on a Kenne Bell twin-screw on it and sending the tranny to Lentech for beefing up even though the stock Ford 5-speed can handle over 400hp and tq, however I'll easily be exceeding that with the swap and mods lol. Heh, gonna have a sick sleeper of a truck.
KLZ - nice, very nice!

Way too much. This car has some nice options, but this is way too much to spend on a 996 C2. Usually, all these "wannabe" options to make the car similar to the GT3 do not add value to a vehicle, and may take away from it.
If this is the "perfect" car for you, then by all means go for it. But this car will drive nothing like the real GT3 coming out this year. Way less horsepower, way different suspension, way heavier, etc.

i think this seller is just using the gt3 name as a marketing tactic to get more buyers to look at his ad. overall, its no different from any other fixed up 996.

GT3 also does not have the aerokit pieces on the sides of the rear bumper (look ugly IMHO, much nicer w/out them like KLZ's car) and the GT3 has the center opening in the front bumper as well.

A stock GT3 never came with the rear bumper fins but it was available as a dealer option on the car for '99-'01 GT3's.

SICAONE: Thanks... I've H&R coilovers on my car. The coilover itself looks very similar to the ones on the GT3s <img border="0" alt="[hiha]" title="" src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" />
FYI: the upper pic is my H&R coilover.....

this is the 04' GT3 factory suspension...
