Default GIAC Chip Flash/Evo intake installed today

Hello all
Just got my 2001 996 Cab out of storage today and had to try for some more HP this year. I had the work done at Pfaff Tuning (Toronto) and, as usual, all went very well. I also went to Tireworks (they give great discounts to PCNA members and put on a set of Goodyear F1 GS-D3 to replace my trashed Kumhos.
What did I notice? Intake noise is louder, especially over 4k RPM. Seat of pants says faster and judging from acceleration in higher gears, torque has improved as well as HP.
My first track day is at Shannonville on Wed May 3. I know the track well (6th season for this car) and will be able to report improvement more accurately based on shift points etc.
Will post next week. Great to start another season with something different!
Cheers
Ian

No, I did not. I relied on published GIAC/EVO dyno data which has been reproduced on this forum many times. As you know, seat of pants doesn't mean all that much, however, I'll be able to tell based on track day next week. As I mentioned, I have a lot of seat time in my car at this track and I know the shift points very well. I'll be able to tell the difference (if any) very quickly and will report back to all.
As an aside, I've been told that the 3.4 L engine is more suited to chip flashing than the 3.6...don't know if that's true.

that's a drag.....at least you have the torque and HP of a 997S to fall back on!
Thanks for the input...I shall find out whether their dyno test improvements http://www.evoms.com/996%20tuning.htm are truth or fiction next Wednesday.
Cheers

Thanks Ian. Keep us posted.

BTW, love Toronto. Have relatives there. Usually get there once or twice a year.

I can't tell you yet as I drove car from tire shop through the usual disgusting Toronto traffic to garage. One exit ramp taken at speed and turn in felt great. Unfortunately, basis of comparison was a set of absolutely trashed Kumho's....will fill you in on tires after track day next week. I was considering the new Bridgestone Pole Positions and the Yoko Advan Neo, however, both are not available in Canada yet.
