I agree with some but I'd nominate the Audi RS6 to be included in the Sport Sedan class

Agreed, the RS6 is "sportier" and even more practical-"sedan" than the S-type R in the "Sport"-"Sedan" class.

The 996 GT3 should be atop the GT class list.

Good Luck all!

GT3 (my favorite for the track) is not as fast in the street with your average driver than a TT nor is the GT2, not to mention versatility/safety at the limit, etc, but maybe we could place it 3rd after the F360

MC LAREN F1 - Isn't it amazing that this car *still* commands so much respect and continues to hold the bar after something like ten years?

I've read that the folks in the UK responsible for this vehicle fully expected it to be elipsed and forgotten within months by a Ferrari response.

Good call also on the Subaru and Mini, two of my favorites - It goes to show that cars don't have to be exclusive or expensive to be outstanding and thoroughly enjoyable vehicles that push the limits of their classes.

carlos- excellent list! i would suggest a few revisions though

audi rs4 is better than bmw m3 as a sport coupe

s class merc is a much better choice than the butt ugly 7 series bmw with its silly i drive. <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" />

i prefer f550 maranello to aston vanquish but i would enjoy either car! <img border="0" alt="[burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

wouldn't you really prefer a maybach to a bentley? i would! <img border="0" alt="[hiha]" title="" src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" />

bmw m3 is not a sports car--996 c4s is a better choice in this category.
<img border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" title="" src="graemlins/bigok.gif" /> i confess i am not totally objective in this last suggestion <img border="0" alt="[hiha]" title="" src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" /> i love my c4s!

finally--i can't seriously vote for the brits unless they import their engines and electrical systems from germany! overall i'd vote italians as #2 <img border="0" alt="[bigbye]" title="" src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" />

Yes I meant the Sti version, you had one of these radical machines, right Waz?
The bike class would be too easy, GSX-R1000 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
The V6 Clio is very controversial true because of its radical setup (a Renault hatchback with a V6 engine on the rear and RWD).

I guess the NSX should go in place of the non-turbo 996's. I just did´t want to look to bias

I take note of the other votes but no mods and only full production cars (no M3R's or CSL, no Noble GTO, etc) or otherwise its cheating <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Anyone interested in the McLaren F1 street car
shuld download the Top Gear test of the McLaren F1 from kazza (27.732KB) or here <a href="http://www.fast-cars.net/videos/Mclaren%2FMclaren%20F1%20-%20Top%20Gear.mpeg" target="_blank">http://www.fast-cars.net/videos/Mclaren%2FMclaren%20F1%20-%20Top%20Gear.mpeg</a> or here <a href="http://www.fast-cars.net/video/VideoPreview.php?id=Mclaren+F1" target="_blank">http://www.fast-cars.net/video/VideoPreview.php?id=Mclaren+F1</a> or the video doing 391Km/h (240mph)
AMAZING!!
