Help requested on C4s options
Any suggestions on whether I should try to (or can) specify a particular tire manufacturer on my new C 4S. I understand that it could come with either Pirelli or Conti, but not sure.
Any suggestions on "must have" options would be appreciated.

No idea about the tyres.
I love the Bi-Xenons - they almost make it worth having the BOSE stereo (P04 package) which is deeply unimpressive. Instant daylight...
I also couldn't live without the auto-dimming mirrors. A cheap but wonderful upgrade if you drive at night.
The natural leather (if you like the colours) is also really nice. Cheap too compared to the C2.
Good luck with whatever you buy.

I also like the bi-xenon headlights on my '02 cab. I'd also recommend the memory power seats, especially if you have more than one regular driver. You should hope your car doesn't come with Contis; they've been getting very poor reviews for wear at the Tire Rack website.

As a Porsche salesman and having ordered and sold the first two C4S's that came to our dealership personally, I would advise: Advanced Technic package, power/memory seats, soft-look leather seats with Porsche crests in the headrests. The rear wiper you can take or leave, but dont get colored wheel crests as the C4S has its own unique center caps. Some other options I think are nice but not ordered often are the colored seat belts and deviating stiching in the seats and door panels. The second one was an Artic silver with black leather and red belts and red stiching. Nice. Good Luck.

Thank you for the advice. I really appreciate the help.
So far I have chosen Seal Grey with Black interior, supple seats, the advanced technic package, carbon leather steering wheel, carbon and aluminum brake and shift ****, the back-up warning system ( may seem woosy but I figure any help not to back up into something will be helpful) and heated seats.
Does anyone know what tires are coming on the '02 C4S?

I think some of John's ideas look great: deviating stitching, Porsche crest in the seat headrests.
But after driving home last night I wondered: after a couple of weeks of ownship of the car, am I still going to 'see' these subtle styling enhancements?
I was thinking of Polar silver, meridian blue interior, silver center rear console, yellow stitching, yellow restraint belts, Porche crest in headrests, etc. Compared to the overall price of the car some of the options cost very little but on a personal note, I may show some restraint after all.
Then again.....

I have an 02 C4S on order for a June build. For the price we have to pay, its disgusting that I can't order the tires I want. I have a 99 C2 996, I have had Michelin Pilots, Contis and now SO2's. The Conties were by far the worst. The Bridgestones are the best IMHO. My salesman tells me its either contie or Pirellis.
In Vancouver the base list on the C4S is CAN$117,500 which at todays exchange rate is $74,350, which is somewhat less expensive than the US. probably has something to do with the Canadian dollar vs the DM vs the US$.

I just ordered a C2 Cab with the possibility of getting Michelins, Bridgestones, Pirellis, or Continentals. When I inquired with Tire Rack, they suggested that all of the first three tires in the above order indicatting that there have been complaints on the Continentals. My dealer told me that one cannot select tire makes on an order with Porsche, but if they have another vehicle in stock with more preferable tires they would switch them out for me. In your case with the choice of only the Pirellis & Continentals, as verified by the chart on P. 37 Feb/Mar Christophorous, I would opt to get the Pirellis by hook or by crook.

I ordered my '02 cab in arctic silver with Metropole blue interior and top and it looks very nice and more distinctive than the ususal silver/black combination.
