Post 265 or 285 c-2 cab.

Upgrading to 2002 cup 18 inch wheels, for my 99 c-2 cab, any recomendations ? no racing just cruzin the coast hwy and trips to the mountains.

and tires / P zero rosso ? or Bridgestone S02 not sure any of these are quieter.. How much can I get for 17 turbo twist chrome? Wheel enhancements in LA says $400 maybe. any advice would be appreciated.

I have a coupe and went with SO-3's and 285/30 x 18 rears. Love the width and the tires.

Thumbs up

Loren : great pic the 2nd one.
The SportDesign '18 model are very nice. But quite hard to clean..?
The S03 Bridgestone seems to be the best ones in dry and wet conditions.

Thanks.
Heh...Heh... probably not as hard to clean as SportClassic II's.
I think I keep P21S in business.

Loren-having switched to 285's any noticeable degree of understeer vs 265's unless you switched fronts from 7.5 to 8's then it's moot point : ). Regards. Mike

Loren,

I have the same wheels as you and I love the look but did you have to change it to fit the 285's?

Also, a feed back as the Mike's Question would be great. Thanks

You will definitely get more understeer if you just change to 285/30's in the rear alone. I did also change the front wheels to 8" which gives a larger contact patch with the same 225/40 front tires. With this setup I think the car has somewhat less understeer. I plan to get more neutral with ROW M030 suspension which will lower and change the gemometry to make the car more neutral (and produce a little more oversteer). Lastly, I plan to add the GT3 5mm spacers all around. This will give the car the same setup as the factory GT3's.

No other changes are needed and the spacers are optional.

I agree with Loren. I have 225/285 S03's on my car with 8" and 10" Kinesis wheels. The wider front wheels give a wider track and contact patch relative to stock and combined with a bit more (1 degree) negative camber in front and the ROW M030 suspension the car is quite neutral. Oversteer can be induced when you need/want it. I also think the 285's on the rear look great.

Thanks Mike.
You just choose the "Image" button when you are posting a message and enter the URL for the image. If you don't have a site for images 986host.com is free or as Rennlist member you could create a Rennlist site to store your images or... if you have web space through your ISP you can put the images there and point to the URL (this is what I do).

Thanks Guys, so go for the 225 front and 285 rears, does it matter if the Bridestone's S03 are not N rated? or should i stay with S02?

My 2 cents...

Go with the S03's.
If you look at the performance and technical ratings of the S03's you will see that they exceed the S02's by quite a bit. Porsche can not test every tire but their "N" ratings give us a good idea of what is acceptable for the cars performance and handling. I look for tires that exceed the N ratings.

I missed the "image" button. Duh. Thanks, Loren.

Also agree on the S03 vs S02 logic. The S03 outperforms the N rated S02 in testing and the S03's lived up to their promise and have had no negatives in actual use.
