Default Body shop in northen NY/NJ

I have a small ding on the passenger rear quarter panel, any recommendations for body shops?

Also, I have one of my summer rims that I would like to get repainted, any suggestions in the north east?

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Rob,

You could treat is as a "battle scar." Chicks will dig it. Didn't you say you were going to drive it forever and run it into the ground a while back?

I would say go to the Orange-Ulster boces but 1.) I've seen their work (admittedly some is excellent...it's like roulette tho )and 2.) they take forever. They've already gotten two P-cars (911 E & T)

I'd offer to do the painting for you but, eh...I don't have the proper equipment or place to do the work. I don't know how to pull dents either.

Good luck finding a place. I can wet-sand if you're not satisfied with that aspect at least. Getting an auto-body repair education is up next!! I swear...enough of this trial and error BS.

Let's see how small this dent is anyway!!

All the Best,

Rob - have you considered lypo-suction?? Oh, wait... I thought you said "passenger's rear quarter panel"... er, never mind!

Do you have a Dent Doctor or similar outfit in your area? I had a guy here remove a dent in my Jaguar S-Type about a year ago. No paint touch up needed. Also, they are usually pretty reasonable.

There's a guy called the 'wheel doctor', he goes to the various porsche dealers and redoes wheels, his first name is Sampson. The dealer also sells tiny bottles of touchup paint from porsche, 17$.
I'll try and dig up the wheeel doc's #.
Enjoy the weather.

Thanks Chris, much appreciated.

BTW, I just purchased a set of winter wheels in Jan... I would have definitely bought yours, do you have a pic of what they look like?

I have a scratch (front right fender) that dented the lip of the wheel well. Too scared to get it fixed by a local. Silver you know how that goes..
Ray Catena the largest Porsche dealer in the area use Quality Auto Body in Rahway, New Jersey.
I hear their work is flawless. Which is the exact opposite of everything I have ever seen by a small shop.
After owning a black and silver car I've become experienced with spotting errors (dust under the clear coat??!!).

Are you sure Ray Catena is actually doing the work? My guess is they are farming the work out to a body shop and just tacking on their fee.

well yeah thats what I meant Ray Catena uses Quality Auto Body. Ray Catena are a HUGE operation but I doubt they have an in-house bodywork shop.

check out the affiliations, each of the makes RC sells.

p.s.

I started this process to remove some curb rash on my wheel. Working out well so far.

Default quality auto body

Quality Auto Body -

I used them about 10 years ago on my 928 for some work, and they really did nice work. I am quite picky with these sorts of things as well....

I've seen that here on Rennlist, don't know who originally posted it but I was impressed.

Unfortunately I just don't have the energy right now to do it myself, and there is a small chunk missing from part of the rim and they're going to have to weld in some aluminum to fix it. Oh yeah I'm also really lazy.

Thanks!!
