Default Techron? The good the bad the ugly...Opinions Please

Hey, anybody have an opinion on using techron?

I was wondering if it may be a good first step to fix a intermittent rough idle, before going into costly repairs...

Techron is a good fuel system cleaner IMO. I don't think you are going to find much bad or ugly other than cost.

However I started using Jectron and Ventil Sauber Valve Clean on my 993 and have never switched back. I usually run a bottle of each through the system just prior to doing an oil change. Here is a link where I get it (no afiliation, yada, yada, yada). This reminds me that I need to order some.

Techron works great, it saved me after I had some bad gas once. Just buy it directly from the Chevron station, not very expensive at all. Keep using Chevron fuel with Techron for a month or so, it should help.

Another product worth looking at : BG 44K

Isn't techron added to Chevron gas?

Pep Boys even carries it - I've used it in my other vehicles. Techron advises to add one container per tankful when the tank is near empty. Most, but not all fuels have detergent additives, although I believe virtually all premium fuels do. I still use it.
