Post Porsche Carbon Fiber Shift ****/Boot -NICE!!!

Had special ordered the Porsche Carbon Fiber Shift **** plus Boot and already installed on my '99 996 coupe. Its the one shown on the Techquipment catalog and its beautiful. At first thought by reading the catalog that its for my01 and up but it works as well for prior years. The regular shift **** was ok but too simple just the leather and the aluminum face with the shift numbers wo aluminum horseshoe. The Carbon Fiber comes with the aluminum horseshoe and the shift number logo is also in carbon fiber(looks black on the catalog) with the Porsche gold crest on the aluminum portion of the ****. Paid 500 for it but was worth it. Part number is 996-424-981-18 plus color code of leather. Installation very easy just pull out the original with two hands and pop in the new one and there's a little screw to tighten it. The stock one didnt have a screw to clamp it with. Regards. Mike

Nice hand brake DON!!! I need to order that as well. Only thing is my carbon fiber shift **** is different then yours-its one unit with leather boot and aluminum horseshoe. I hope to get a scan out ASAP and see for yourself. If not I'll email the pics to you Bilstein. Choices, choices : ). Regards. Mike

my interior is metropole blue. Had ordered car with carbon fiber **** (tipS) and handle, but it came thru w/o it. Factory sent parts along later. When installed it will look nice with the carbon fiber wheel and blue....although I must admit the contrast of carbon fiber and S. beige will be striking. As I said the reason the **** looks different is because mine is a Tip
