Default Anyone use Liberty Mutual Ins

I'm about ready to drop AAA after 20 years. LMI is quoting me 40% less on my 6 cars. I had them 30 years ago. Wonder if there still good to deal with.

Thanks for any insite. Steve

No but I am using Allstate to insure my C4S - agent has been great to work with. They have a deal in which they underwrite with Hagerty - but in this case, they added my Porsche to my other 4 cars under their 'Premium Policy' which gives me 3K miles per year (I just use the car on weekends and during good weather) which costs me around $1200 per year, which was cheaper than either Hagerty or Leland West. Plus it insures anyone in the family to drive the car (as if I'd let them!). Having all my cars (and house) under a single insurer is really convenient, and the price couldn't be beat.

Check out State Farm for house and auto's. My GT3 and 996 are less than $1200 per year, combined. Obviously it depends where you live and how long you have been a customer.

Hi Gang! I give this to you for comparison. Send me a PM is you want the Liberty Mutual agents name and tel#.

With the following cars at under 5,000 miles per year 03 GT2, 01 996TT,03 Z06, - over 5,000 miles per year on our 02 325i, 02 Chevy 2500HD and my son and his Miata, = $3,900 per year and they just take 1/12th out of your checking acct each month with no interest or service fee. This includes my wife and 21 year old son (w/clean driving record) my house insuance was about $150 per year more with them. But rental homes were $70 less each and I wanted one carrier. I also picked up a $1,000,000 umbrella policy for another $595.

AAA was way over, $6,300 and charged me 14% interest if I didn't pay it all up front!

I've heard good things about State Farm coverage but in So Cal they were not less.

Have Fun! Steve

There are so many variables in Auto Insurance, that it's pointless to quote rates on a forum. For example on liability I had to go with $300K, which is considerably above legal requirements, because it is a requirement for a supplemental umbrella policy that I have. Of course another big issue would be your comprehensive deductables. Then there is the person's driving reccord, his location, number of teenagers in the household, etc.

My wife and I have auto insurance with Liberty Mutual. Just so happens we just had a claim, too. My wife backed into another another car, damaging her rear bumper and breaking the tail light.

There was some confusion about how the estimate should be done. First they told use to get two estimates and gave us a list of shops for the estimates. Once that was done, they said their appraiser had to inspect the vehicle and do an estimate.

Originally they said that if we went to their recommended body shop they'd guarantee that we'd be satisfied with the work and that all replacement parts would be OEM. Later, the shop told use the parts would OEM or used.

However, when it was all done I was satisified with the repair. The confusion with the estimates was annoying and cost us some lost time at work and I'm not real happy about that.

I switched from AllState NJ to Liberty Mutual just a few months ago. Kept the policy identical. For my Audi A6 and Porsche C4S, I saveda total of about $1000/year ($3600 vs. $2600). I enjoyed being with Allstate and had no problems with them. however, Liberty Mutual offers discounts for certain alumnis of universities and hence the lower premium. When I told Allstate, they really couldn't do a single thing to lower my premium. In fact, they did state that Liberty Mutual's college/university alumni discount has caused some of their policyholders to leave as well. Since I have no points, accidents, no lapses and a good history; I felt it's best for me to start finding better rates. That $1000 = mods

I also have Liberty. Used them for over 8 years. Their rates are hard to beat even with Geico and others around. I'm happy with them, but haven't submitted a claim.
