Default ipod and CDR220

I'm sure this has been posted before, but this is the BEST way to do it. I tried all the FM modulators, they all suck. Call Becker USA 201-327-3434 get the AUX wiring kit ( BNA 1319.116, $16.40) and a RCA y adaptor cable from Radio Shack ($7). Total install time, about 10 minutes. Just remember to depress the blue tabs to get the removal keys out. Very simple and very slick install, I just had to share. I love it when a plan comes together!
BTW my car is a 2000 so it doesn't have the MOST interface.

Thanks Doug. I am getting ready to do the same. BTW, did you also install an inline ground noise reducer thingy?

I have the same install and don't seem to have that engine whine. However, there is a subtle hum (very quiet that is noticeable only when the volume is turned way way way down). Do you think it may have been introduced by the Becker AUX input and would the ground loop isolator resovle this problem?

Install it! Best 16 bucks spent. It worked for me.

btw there are a few manufacturers that make an adapter from the ipod to the cd changer plug and it controls the ipod. FYI the denison one uses the headphone out NOT LINE OUT. This does line out -

Does using the Becker AUX plug allow you to continue to use the CD changer as usual?

It (the ipod) replaces it. So you could get rid of your CD changer if you like. I haven't used my changer since I got my ipod last year.

Dell's right. Unless you install some sort of customized splitter, you have to choose between the Mp3 player and the CD changer. It's a no brainer in my opinion and I have been running the MP3 since I got the car (the AUX cable was actually my first 'mod' after purchase).

Chunk the CD changer in the attic with the 8 track and cassette players.

I too have chucked my cd changer. I use my cell phone as an mp3 player with a 1g mini sd card and recently for my nav with bluetooth- I can listen to it on the radio also with the aux connect etc.
