Anybody know what the Porche name for this color is? I have seen 'Mirage' used but can't find it listed anywhere.

Not 100% sure what L555/AS is, but AS is typically Arctic Silver. The Mirage color that you are referring to is probably Meridian Metallic. Do a search for a thread on that color to find some pix. Its somewhere between Silver and Seal Grey...I love it...my c4 cab is Meridian Metallic.

Yup - sure enough; Did a search on rennlist and Meridian Metallic is the color - thanks!
Strange thing - The color code on the hood (and in the owners maintenance manual) is L555 - this comes up no where on line.

According to the Porsche Technical manual...

L555 - is Paladio Metallic and was only offered in MY98, 99 and 00 (98 only in Europe).

'99 996 'Mirage'</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">There is actually a colour called Mirage Metallic though, and it looks nothing like Meridian. The Mirage Metallic is a little more gold, and doens't have that sort of rose tint to it.

Persoanlly, I prefer Meridian.

It's Mirage. Meridian was not an option on '99s.

And if you need to see colors up close and personal, order some plugs. Got 'em in every factory color.

Nice of Porsche to make the colors Mirage and Meridian so close in color. It'd be interesting to get them side by side to see the real difference.

Why am I being so **** about this? I've ordered a nifty little wing from spoilerdepot.com and they don't list the L555 color on their site. I'd like to make sure that they can paint it with the right color before they send it off...
