please also include yearly mileage.
i'll bet many of our different opinions are based on the type of use we give our cars.

Daily and track car. Its used just as much as the S4 (APR Chip - 318hp and 382 lb/ft - its actually faster than the 4S in a straight line). The 996 is an all around great car. Its more comfortable than a 993. It is however still a rough sports car that is loud and stiff. I avg approx. 10k per year.

one of two daily "drivers" except in the wintertime, it stays in its nice cosy warm garage.
2001 C4 approaching 10k miles, 1600 of that may of 01 in europe, 2500 from POE to Seattle, the rest...
2001 AWD RX300 is the other daily driver and the wintertime backup.

Mine is somewhere between a weekender and a GQ..02 Cab came 11/01..currently have 6600 miles. I put h'top on like now and drive until our illustrious county sand and salt people spread their road poison. Then it's a GQ until the spring washout.

hi palting
i'm up to 14,800 as my daily driver. no track yet.i expect to drive it all winter except in snow when i'll drive a 1992 300e 4matic that my mom left me.
i'm tempted to get snow tires and wheels but i can't decide on a good package for the c4s that would be adequate for the days without snow. also with an avg snowfall of 18" in md i don't know if i can justify a $2000 investment. still undecided.

I hated driving until I got my first Porsche 18 months ago (getting a second one in about 3 months). It is my daily driver but I only have 7K on it. I drive my SUV when I go to a weird neigbourhood or have to haul stuff around.
p.s. This board makes me a Porsche loyalist eventhough I have had some mecahnical issues.

01 C2 Cab, daily driver since I picked it up in April this year. Now at 9800, put 4K on it since purchase. Here in Florida I drive it with the top down every chance I can get.
Was up at 6AM this morning, top down to the grocery store for some missing breakfast items. Fantastic morning here in central Florida low 60's and sun shining a wonderful drive!

I have accumulated 28,000 miles with two years as my only car, two years as more of a weekender since my daughter was born.
The baby normally goes to day jail in the Beetle Turbo, which is TECHNICALLY supposed to be my wife's car--she bought it. In fact, it has my Porsche baby seat (and me) mounted in it most of the time. Frankly, plugging the baby in and out of the Beetle back seat is even easier than the Range Rover, since it has the most headroom of any car sold. You can sort of stand in it.
So something like 12K, 8K, 4K, 4K. I drive the 996 up to hit ***** 3-4 times per week at a course on the other end of about 7 miles of absolutely marvelous winding road in the hills, here, so those 4k's are more use of the car than it might seem.
