Driving Sunglasses
I am looking for a good pair of driving glasses. I was thinking about the Serengeti Milos, but I seem to remember someone saying that photochromic lenses shouldn't be used for driving. Any suggestions?

I recently purchased a set of Serengeti Argosy glasses. They are the same lens you are looking at. After about 4 weeks of use, I can say they are the best glasses I have ever owned.
Roy
ps. No problem reading the display in my Cab or my TT.

I have the Revos (Polarized) and before that I had the Maui Jim's (Polarized) and I can't always read the digital displays in either my Porsche or Mercedes.
PS,
I have one of the best eye doctors in the country as a best friend. so my conclusion is that you guys must be touting non-polarized lenses.
To Sean:
I don't tilt my head I lift the glasses.
Cheers!

Obviously much of what is said here is a matter of opinion. However, I live in Los Angeles, and my optometrist, my laser eye surgeon, and every sunglass store I have ever been to in L.A. ALL agree that Maui Jim makes the best sunglass lenses in the world.
EVERY lens that MJ makes is polarized and has 9 differnt layers and coatings such as polarization, anti-glare, water proofing, mirror-gradient, scratch resistance, etc...
According to MJ, no other lens manufacturer in the world uses all 9 coatings that they use.
The ONLY caveat that polarized lenses from any manufacturer have is a potential distortion of some (not all) LCD displays. I personally have had no problem with my MJ glasses and my 996TT interior displays, but I have had trouble with a couple other cars.
MJ glasses range in price from $100-$300, and come in every style from plastic frame to metal to flexon to titanium. Most of the lenses are optically correct glass, and the "sportier" lines are made of polycarbonate. There are also 3 lens colors to choose from.
I'm not here to say anyone else's opinion is wrong - just to share mine. I urge you to do a side-by-side comparison (preferably at an outdoor mall where you can take glasses outside).
BTW: I do not work for MJ or any eyeglass store or distributor. I'm simply an informed consumer who is sensitive to sunlight.

I'll second the vote for Maui Jim's. I've had Oakleys, Revos, and Serengeti's. Revos and Serengetis are nice, but the MJs are the best by far. They don't scratch near as easily as the others and the lenses are much better. I still use my Serengeti's on cloudy days as they aren't as dark as my MJs (they aren't polarized - Summit).
