Personal speed record
I am only a 1+ year owner, so I got a little nervous at 137 and backed off (this is at 1am on the 110 south, near the end, in So Cal.
Thrilling, but a little scary, for sure.

don't ask why I did it but I did 168 a trying to let go of a juiced A6 audi that pulled strong up to 155.
the sides were moving by so fast I made a stretch of 20 miles that normally takes a 15-20 minute drive feel like 5 minutes.
never going to do it again. ever since it seems everytime i stretch the car 140mph can be reached without noticing because after 150mph you must be insane to keep going.

Don't beat yourself up over it. At a good speed, I turned the ignition off instead of the head lights by accident a few months back...talk about stupid!!!
Use your brakes to slow her down.

Speaking of turning off your lights...when I lived in Brussels, used to do biz in Bavaria and would hit a section of the autobahn with my German mistress in her TT. She would rocket up to 280 km/h and when I would glance at her I could swear she had her eyes closed. As she wanted to share the joy she would be reaching for the lights to turn them off as we shot through the countryside. I swear I could hear the schadenfreuden laughter of some long buried Geheime Staatspoilizei unit beackoning me to join them in Hell. I remember, supper that evening along the Donau was quite uncomfortable.

it all comes down to a point where you drive as fast as you are feeling the car stable or somehow under control, and of course it totally depends on how you fence FEAR.....
first day i bought my previous P-car a 964 C2 i did hit 160 Mph on a wet road (straight line of course ) on badly worn tyres.....
i was 19....that day...
after 8 years it seems to me ridiculous what i did....but at the time, at that age under these conditions i did it......
may be what i did was less dangerous than trying to take a curve at 125 Mph.....who knows?
Know that i am 27 with a 996 i still hit 180 Mph with it......maybe my brain is still 19.....
anyway what i am trying to say, it all depends on conditions....which are endless to write down.
everyone drives as fast as he can....
for the record my max speeds are
1. 185 Mph - 297 Klms/h on my 996
2. 178 Mph - 285 Klms/h on my 964
3. 175 Mph - 280 Klms/h on my godfather's 993
all on P-cars!!!!!
