He ripped the windscreen (I am assuming he has a cabriolet) not the windshield.

Not sure how easy it is to replace the screen (keeping the existing metal frame). A new windscreen costs around $300.

That would make sense.

Yeah, get a new one. There's a few on ebay and you can get one from Suncoast, sunset and brandywine. You won't find a OEM mesh to match even if you could glue a new mesh on somehow.

If the rip is very minor, try "jb weld" epoxy or silicon to glue it back. I would personally not bother repair bc it'll bother me.

Go to home depot and buy a role of replacement screen, and some 1/4" steel tubing. First pre drill 1/8" holes liberally in the tubing, using 1/2" sheet metal screws, fasten the screen to the tubing utilizing the pre drilled holes. Next spot weld the steel tubing on the existing frame (you may want to remove the windscreen from the car for this part) then spray paint it flat black.

Please post pics of this so everyone can learn.

Have you done this before or seen it on another car? I'd think it'll look ghetto.

I second that. It would be ghetto unless you cut the bar in half and put a hinge in there so you can fold up the windscreen and store it in the trunk.

Seriously, just buy a new windscreen.

I think you should take one of your kids' beanie babies and have it sticking halfway through the screen. Maybe a flying squirrel (or a flying pig).
