Have to put a trailer hitch on another car, and was thinking about ramps, and wondering if it would make sense to have them around. Anyone use them for their P-Car? If so, does 2 at a a time work or does it have to be 4? Any issues with slipping while trying to drive up? or scraping?

One of the things that freaked me about ramps was the fact that you can't see where to stop. That little lip at the front of the ramp doesn't seem like much of a 'stop'. I've head of guys using them on P/cars to change oil. I prefer to just use some 1 by 12 boards. Seems to work just fine.

I put those rubber non slip mat under the ramp to keep it from sliding. you can get mat at grocery or home improvement stores for cheap.
You only need 2 ramps to do oil changes etc. It's faster than jacking up the car and very safe. Ramps are real cheap at $20-25 at auto supply stores.

Just curious...if the tail end is up on ramps and the front isn't...wouldn't the oil flow towards the rear of the engine away from the drain hole so that you wouldn't be getting all the used oil out? At least that's the picture I have in my head...

Yeah... not sure how you're changing the oil with the car on ramps.
I just use the floor jack, lift the right side of the car a tad, then lower it back down and let it drain. Jack it back up a little to get my stuff out and put the filter back on.

I use my ramps on the driveway, which is on a slight decline.
When the car is up on the ramps, the car is actually perfectly level.
Plenty of room to do oil/filter changes in a snap!

Hey Lee,
I got these Rhino ramps from the local AutoZone. I got the heavy duty ones. They are a bit wider. I cannot get the front end on them due to the aero bumper, but the rear end works well. They have a thick rubber strip on the bottom to prevent sliding.

Thanks. I did it the old fashioned way. Put the bluesmobile up on jackstands and installed the trailer hitch. It's the weirdest thing... the receiver points down toward the ground. you need an adapter for the receiver to get to horizontal. No car like a MOPAR...
