Well different strokes for different folks, there are soo many damm choices for our cars
Look into:
TechArt
Gemballa
Strosek
Factory GT3
misha's wings
Getting my point?Pricing is all over the place anywhere from a $ 200.00 all the way up to $4000.00, plus paint and install, It all depends on what your taste is, I have bought a A Tecart III and am waiting until its off back order, but i am sure most of these wings are readily available. Good luck and let us know what you end up with

How about this one? OEM and very few people go for this. And if you prefer a less aggressive look...

The wing you do choose should be dependent on the direction you want your car to head in, aesthetically I mean. So if you install an agressive wing (eg Misha's GT2, OEM GT3, Gemballa, etc.), the rest of the car should match accordingly (front bumper, rockers, wheels) or it might look funny. But if you are just looking to add a wing to stock body parts, then I would go with something more subtle (the above wing and strosek wings don't stick out too much and you can always add body parts later if you feel necessary)

Glad u like it. However, I don't have the part #. It came with the car when I bot it (it was a yr old used). If I remember correctly, it is just called the Carrera wing and its obviously not part of the aerokit I/II. It used to be in the Tequipment listing on the website but with the 997 out, the 996 Tequipment list is a lot smaller nowadays...

Brandywine had that small Carrera wing (same as above) for $1395 about two weeks ago.

I agree... I thought I saw the Carrera wing on ebay for about the same amount a while back... however, couldn't find it this time around though. $2700 is definitely too much for this wing. keep searching I guess...

Part number is 996 512 903 00 G2X (you will want to verify when you call)

By the way, did you ever get you wheels swapped around so the tread is in the right rotation?

A wing is kind of a personal thing. I had the Misha GT2 wing on mine, alittle too in your face for me, ended up taking it off and selling it. I prefer to be a little more subdued, I actually felt a little self conscious at times with the wing. I was actually relieved to take it off. However, I really like the look of the oem aerokit wings, and the techart type III is nearly perfect.
Keep aerodynamics in mind with a wing, just adding a rear wing will cause high speed instability in a 996, you will need to add an adeqate front splitter to compensate. The factory put alot of time and research into this topic, that's why they sell the aerokit wings with a front splitter(C4S at least). My car was a little squirrley at speed until I added a TT lip, night and day.
