Default An Addiction

Since I was 23 years of age and I'll be 56 in June....Was hitch-hiking home from College and got a ride over the mountains with a professor in a new 1967 911S....I was hooked!

I have owned about 15 Porsches over the years...some as daily drivers, a few for racing and a few to buy and sell.....I liked everyone including the 997S Cab. I drove for a day a few weeks ago but a 996TT , '03 or '04 next...it suits an "old Man" like me

I turned 54 in February. Bought my first Porsche ('04 996) in March of this year. Told my wife that instead of being 54, I was now "fifty-Porsch" (without the "e"! You know, like all of the non-Porsche people pronounce it!). I am having a great time with it!

I got my first sports car a 63 Corvette when I was 21. I'm 64 have had 5 Corvettes. This is my first Porsche which I bought new in 99. Drive it every day in the summer when it doesn't rain. BTW I'm entering a mountain bike race this Saturday and hope to kick some of the young guys buts.

Have you seen the movie"Lost in the Translation"? Exact same line when Bill Murray told Scarlet Johansen that he just turned "40". Scarlet response...."Did you buy a porsche?"

Jeeze.. another age thread...

I got my first Porsche at 19 in 1957, it was a club racer (pre 356). The Dr was building these in a garage in Austria.

I'm 66 now and the Pcar doesn't raise as many eyebrows as when I whip off my helmet getting off my sports touring bike.......

32 and just bought my first Porsche(2003 C4S) on EBay. I'm glad I'm starting early because I can't imagine driving anything else besides a Porsche.

This is an interesting thread. I'm 61 and when I think about growing up in the 50s and seeing men looking old when they were in their 40s, I can't help but notice the difference today with respect to aging. I have to think that it's the work men did. Working in steel mills or other tough factory jobs took their toll on men. For example when I was a teenager, I remember being amazed when I saw my 55 year old dentist standing next to his 46 year old brother who worked at Bethlehem steel. The dentist looked like he was in his early 40s and the steel worker looked like he was in his late 50s.

Bought my first Porsche at age 26. I'm 56 now and drive number 8 (C4S cab midnight blue/grey). Best Porsche ever, daily driver, and overall car number 34 since age 17. You only go around once....
