CEL $611.00
CEL came on just after purchase in Fla. Drove home to Boston area and made appointment at Porsche Dealer. They replaced Air Mass Sensor $433.38 Labor was $156.00. Now Im thinking that Im "all set". Half way home (some 15 miles)
CEL back on. I called the dealer and will bring it back tomorrow. Any thoughts on what else it could be?? Oh yeah The GOOD news 45,000 and the RMS is dry as a bone!!!

Without a scanner to show you what is setting off the CEL, you are just guessing. Have the dealer print out all codes and pending DTC's before he resets the CEL. Then buy yourself a good scanner for $150 or so.

SHEEEEESH! 156 for labor!!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?! it takes 15 minutes at the most to diagnose using the scan tool and all of 2 minutes to change the MAF. WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!! NEVER GO TO THESE GUYS AGAIN!!!!!
obviously wasn't the MAF and misdiagnosed. i would demand my money back or a least a deep discount.
i bought my scan tool from these guys for less than 100 but it is for a pocket PC which i already have autoenginuity.com
EDIT: i don't know what i was thinking when iposted teh scanner being under a hundred. retail is 229.

you can get a scanner from any autoparts store, basic one starts at $99 and those around $150-200 often offer more display of the actually error instead of just a code that you'll have to look up.
since you are still under warranty and this is the same problem, I don't think you need to pay another deductible if you go to the same place. if you have to pay deductible, go somewhere else bc they are ripping you/porsche off.

karlooz, I went to the site autoenginuity.com and I can not find the pocket pc version or anything else for under $100. Pleas advise what you purchased. I would be very interested to purchase the same...Jeff

OOOOOPS! so sorry about that. i got it off ebay a while back for less than retail. i recall it was around 100 but i can't guarantee that
here it is on ebay autoenginuity pocket PC scanner
i think it is worth it cause of their software. they have "speed tracer" which converts your pocket PC into your own personal dyno. pretty slick. if you purchase the scanner, speed tracer is free
