Default Thanks, Don, for being older than me!

I'm 55, born and raised in Munich (which explains my tag), have lived in the NYC area for the past 30+ years. Married, with 3 boys (two are little). Cars are my passion. I've owned 34 since college, starting with my '57 XK140 roadster, I'm on Porsche #8 (other car is BMW #9 '02 745Li). I work on Wall Street. Last fun car was '01 M5.
Here is my '04 C4S cab:

Yes, this is a very diverse group of people from many places. What I find interesting is just how many people have moved around so much.

What's the weather like in Dubai today?

I'm 30 living in Denver. This is my first P-car. It is a 99 C2 with 25,000 miles. I have had it about one year. I wish I could drive it more, but I need a truck most of the time.

Oh...I'm 36...and a woman.

Edit - Okay, I'm not really quite 36, but I will be, too soon in fact. But, close enough to just say I'm 36...it's just easier...although, that isn't so good, I wouldn't want to prematurely age myself...oh hell...nevermind, I'm 35...at the moment.

I'm 40 (wish I could remember 35-36, Robyn!), Taurus, enjoy romatic walks on the beach and am open to...

OOPS- wrong forum!

I'm married with two wonderful young kids (boy and girl). My son is already a full-dledged Porschephile and is able to identify the specific model at 100 yards. Not bad for a four-year old! Now only if I could get him to memorize the planets...

2000 Carrera C2; Slate Grey (great color) with Boxster Red full leather interior + lots of carbon. Great combo. Just noticed an oil leak that must have started last weekend; too soon to tell if it is RMS (taking to dealership next week). Great car!

Owned many fun cars over the years, and am considering a GT3 in the next year or so... Maybe a Pepper for my wife...

This thread reads like something from a Porsche addict's support group (which, I guess it really is!).

"Hi, I'm Scott, and I'm a Porscheholic".

I'm 37, out of Huntington Beach, CA. I own a commercial construction company. I've been racing with BMW CCA, NASA, POC for about 7 years, and I've done a couple of SPEED World Challenge Touring races in a BMW, as well as a lot of endurance racing. I've been into Porsches ever since I was a kid, especially 911's. I remember being about 10 years old, and being able to pick out the flat-6 air-cooled engine sound from cars going by.

In 1983, my father stopped working for a city and started his own consulting business. As a gift to himself, he wanted a car. Knowing I was a car nut, he asked me what I thought he should buy. I told him to get a 911. He wasn't really a fan of the 911, so I said "get that new 944 that's just out". I think he got it for under $20k.

Three 944's later (the original, then an '86 Turbo, then an '88 Turbo S) he finally saw the light, and bought the car pictured below:

Ok, so now my cars. I bought my '87 911 in 1998, then sold it, then bought it back (for the same price but the guy had done the clutch and a windshield) 2 years ago. I love the car:

Then, in '04, I needed to get rid of my '99 M3, and looked at the E46 M3's, when a thought hit me: For the price of this car, I could EASILY get into a clean, low mileage 996. I cancelled my BMW order, and started looking. I found a good car in Michigan, and had a buddy who lived nearby check it out, have it inspected, and he took, literally, 100 photos and emailed them to me. I bought the car for $10k less than a new M3, and have been EXTREMELY happy. It goes in today for H&R coilovers, GT3 sways, and the needed skid plate. I'm trying to get it ready for track instruction duty.

Here's a shot of the car I drive to keep the miles off the Porsches: (BMW, boo...hiss):

And a shot of our World Challenge setup from Sebring '03 (my car's on the left):

Scott...nothing at all wrong with BMW's. Great company and sweet handling cars. Personally, I just sold my track worthy 1998 M3 coupe (not even close to stock) to get my 996. I plan on doing the same you are with yours. Welcome...
