Default Making The Alarm go Bleep?

Anyone know how to make the security system go bleep when you arm or disarm?

if it does it means there is an entry point unsecure....most commonly the glove box (rear center console) is usually not shut all the way.

Do you mean honk the horn? Mine honks at random, I have no idea why.

Nazz, yes. If your horn honks you have something like a glove box open, etc.

I don't have a glove box and typically nothing is ever open. I'll make sure that I secure everything and try to notice if it happens again.

You do have one..it is not the one in the dash like the 02-04's. I am referring to the one at the rear of the rear center console (it's probably called something else though).

if you've installed an aftermarket audio deck, that mite be the reason. mine started beeping all the time after i installed my alpine unit...not that i mind really...the honk lets me know the car is locked.

Nazz-you're probably pushing the button repeatedly to cause the honking. I believe if you got a passenger waiting inside and want to lock the doors and not trigger the alarm you press arm button twice and it'll switch off the alarm. TLMTLM-do you mean you want to hear a beep when it arms like one beep for armed and 2 beeps for disarmed? I don't think it can be done. Neone with an answer. Mike

Yes, sorry, I should have been clearer in my original post. I am looking for a way to have my horn (or a secondary horn or something) beep when the alarm is set, and beep again when the remote control disables the alarm and opens the locks (or something like that). In other words, something audible (like many other cars have these days). The flahing lights alone are not optimal for a variety of reasons. Thanks.

My first complaint with the new car; you dont know when the security is on or off or not. All other cars beep when you lock the doors with the key alarm. This one doesnt. So with its hap-hazard remote that doesnt activate half of the time anyway, you can never tell if its on or off.
What the system does do; is beep when you leave one of the activators un armed. Like the console glove box. So if you leave the box open and activate the system with the key alarm, it beeps. And the security system does still function.
SO if you go into the console in front of the box, and unplug the small connector to the mini switch to the box latch, it is open perminately. And your system will beep when you activate it.

press the key fob lock/unlock button twice in succession and it will beep when you lock the car.

Scouser, if you do that, you'll be de-activating the sensors inside the car.

The double click on the button does disarm the motion sensor detectors inside the car. But, thieves would have to break in the car first and trigger other sensors anyway before they trigger the inside motion detectors since I have a coupe. So, I double click when I'm in a hurry and hear the beep as I go away. When not in a hurry, I click once, look back and see the double light flash, admire the car, thankfull I'm lucky to have one, and move on .

Also a cheap way to ensure your car is armed is let your key fob battery die like mine and just use the key to lock and arm : ). By the way-what battery I have to use on the key fob and nething I need to do memorywise since battery has been dead for like a year-lol!! Regards. Mike

IIRC, if you get the honk because of the stereo (mine was a loose ground on the OEM stere), the security system is not armed. Anyone back me up on this?
