No, if it honks, its armed. But there is one component in the car that isnt making contact. Thats the way the system is described in the manual.

Good. I'd rather be wrong this time.

I finally paid attention this time and I was unloading the trunk. I locked the car and it honked. I'm pretty sure now that the passengerside door has been open in the past which would've made it honk.

Damnit!!! I wish my owners manual would come in!

Nazz:

If you want your horn to beep; the easiest would be to take your stereo out, and put a piece of tape over the alarm contact (or you might have to take the tape off, I forget).

Anyway, when I installed my Nakamichi deck I purposely kept this contact open, for the sole purpose I could hear the horn beep so I know for sure the alarm in on. On the stock deck, I think you can do this too.

So the beep is a way to know your alarm is active, even though its the car telling you a circuit is open somewhere.

Since I changed my CR-220 to the new Traffic Pro, it beeps when the car is armed everytime. Is it because of the radio???

you have a 02. they had the contact on the radio. maybe the new radio doesnt contact that point. Try putting a grounded wire to that point on the frame that the radio mounts in. And then it will probibly stop beeping.

I too was bothered by the fact that the alarm didn't beep or chirp when armed, and it was hard to tell whether the front signals blinked (which you can only see from directly in front). So, I did Sandy's blinking-side-marker-lights hack. Now, my side markers blink with the turn signals, so I can easily see them when I arm the alarm. They also stay on as before whenever the headlights or parking lights are on.

Yes. The 220 has a plastic insulating sticker on the side for the radio alarm contact. TrafficPro does not have this sticker. Pull the radio out and put a piece of tape in the same area.

Guys I had the same problem with the sony deck in my boxster, if you leave the car after the beep and do nothing about it I found the alarm would go off all the time in the garage, I ended up leaving it unlocked till I finnaly sorted the problem to the stereo .

Regards

I recently purchased a c4s cab and was interested in your opinion on oil changes after the 2000 mile break in period. I always thought this a good idea but my salesman didn't recommend?
