Removable front covers are superior in what they are designed to do, which is to protect the front of a car from being hit by road debris.
The shortcomings of the clear films are many, and are usually excused by being "easy". But I'm not commenting on this to dis the clear films. They do have their place on a car, most notably in protecting rocker panels and the lower part of fender flairs. I have applied the clear films to those areas of my car with acceptable results. In these applications it is not as important that they will soon look ratty after taking the debris impacts, What I want to do is to protect the paint.
Being easy, does not always translate into being better.
Why is it that any time any one ask about "waxes" there is a Rejex pile on?
NXT vs. others.
I have used NXT. Very easy application and removal. Non-dusting type of product. Not finicky at all about what you put it over (i.e., oils, fillers, glazes, waxes, etc. which are found in many polishes). Usually has a very slight darkening effect to the color depending on what color you use it on. It has a very nice natural glow and sort of "wet" look on certain colors. Very easy to get. Also has some ability to fill some swirls (very minor ones). Now the down side.....I found the durability to be very poor. Have not been able to get more than a couple of weeks out of the water beading. Great looking product but in my experiences it performs like a carnauba wax and not a synthetic. That said I know of some others who have gotten 2-3 months durability (I have never come close).
The ease of use (literally took 30 minutes to apply and remove to my wife's 3 series) means you can easily apply it often so durability is not all that important. For the same durability I really like the P21S carnauba wax better on metallics (seems to really make them "pop").
If durability is what you are after you can't go wrong with Zaino. Easily 6 months and much longer if you use the Z6 occassionally after a wash and/or use the Z7 car wash soap with it (one of my favorites). Problems...very non-forgiving. Beads like no other product with incredible slickness. If you have defects in your paint they are almost amplified. Does not fill or cover any swirls or scratches (Z5 doesn't either). Has a very "sterile" glossy shiney look some discribe it as a plasticy look on certain colors with not lots of depth to the look. Looks great on lighter colored cars (i.e. silvers, yellows whites, etc.). Some people love it some hate it...you just have to try it. For durability and protection though there isn't much out there that even compares.
Rejex is a similar product to Zaino. I have started experimenting with it. Some on this board swear by it. I am sold yet. So far I don't see any advantages over Zaino. I have not used it long enough to comment on the durability. It hides absolutely nothing (like zaino) so prep of the surface is very important. It also has a very sterile, glossy sort of shine. There really isn't any depth to it (but then I am currently experimenting on a silver which doesn't have much depth).
My favorite combo right now on my wife's black 3 series is the Einszett products. Extremely easy to use and durability has been great also (I haven't used it long enough to see how it compares to Zaino). They also came out with a new Quick Detailer that is very similar to Z6 (which was my favorite) that really boost the look of the Glanz Wax (synthetic wax).
Of my favorite products that is how they compare to NXT. If you have any other specifics let us know. Detailing is a hobby. I like to experiment with different products. Check out Autopia for an unbelievable amount of info on just about any detailing product.

I just got Meguiars NXT and it's the most amazing wax i have ever used. It get's rid of all the swirls marks and fine scratches. With dark colors it looks like you can put your hand in the body.
I used Zymol Concours and they have the same shine.
Meguiars NXT uses Synthetic Polymers which is the same technology used in Rejex.
My problem with Rejex is that it's just a coating...it doesn't do anything for the paint.
