Default Help! 991 Steering Wheel Adaptor on 996

Hi guys I bought a 991 spline adaptor for my 996 via spacershop. Everything is working nicely except I can’t figure out how to get the horn working. It came with a red jumper but where does the horn plug into? Updated with photos

Looks like you have it wired correctly, The horm wire is just a single wire that grounds to the steering shaft/frame when activated.

You may have a faulty horn relay/dual horns/fuse ... Just ground the horn wire and the horn should sound..

BTW :: Very nice upgrade !! I love the 991 paddle shifter steering wheels on the 996 Tip cars...the look and feel are exceptional. !!

But I want only to work paddle shifters from 991.2 steering wheel in 996.
Current 996 wheel is with tiptronic
(so no multifunction buttons on both….)

The wiring for the Tip switches/paddles is very simple...

The control only uses 3 wires , (1) a common wire (2) an upshift wire + ( 3) a downshift wire -

the paddle shifters have 2 wires each ,

the left paddle gets a common and the downshift (-) wire ( note : it doesn't matter the polarity of the wires)

the right paddle gets a common and the upshift wire (+) ( note : it doesn't matter the polarity of the wires)

That's it !! .. If you need the wire colours refer to the instructions or to a wiring diagram...

curious if you'd be willing to provide a measurement betweem the turn signal stalks and the wheel? Are the extremely far back from the newer wheel?
