Default Wheel spacers

I'm considering a different set of wheels and the fronts would require 14-15MM spacers to bring them out more flush with fender (Lobster Forks). Does anyone have experience running spacers on the front of their 996? Its my daily, so main concerns are excessive wear on steering/suspension components.
TIA

15 / 7 mm seens to be a popular set up for this

you can get spacer kits from ESC and
and spacers from https://otisincla.com

the term ' hub centric ' applies here

15mm spacers all around on mine. Make sure you get hubcentric with the correct length wheel bolts.

I think the offset plays a part, can you please share the offset of your wheels? Are they staggered?
TIA

If the spacer is to correct for a different offset and used to bring the wheel to the correct position (or just flush with the fender) it should have no adverse effects. It's when you add flares and extend wheel past where they normally should be that will but stress on things.

20mm front spacers on my c2, 18x8.5in front wheels. Sitting quite flush and don't rub. Could add 10mm rear but I'm not too bothered as it looks fine

What is the original offset for your wheels? Adding 20 might be difficult depending on original offset.

Yes my front rims offset is not ideal, not sure on ET.
As you can see though, it looks good with the spacer
Proper bolted spacer though, not just a shim

I wasn't sure what size I needed, so I first ordered only 2 15mm spacers (with longer bolts), instead of 4, and installed them front and on only the driver's side of the car. This allowed me to see how they look, and if I ended up wanting front or rear to be narrower or wider, I could order the second 2 spacers in that size and rearrange them. I'd say this is the safest approach if you're not sure what size you need. 15mm looked good front and rear, so I just ordered another pair of 15mm's.

I have 15mm rear and 12mm front on my C4S and don't notice any adverse handling. I'd read 7mm and 15mm be recommended, so I picked 12mm to split the difference.

I could go out to 15mm. But, at this point, it'll cost me a couple hundred bucks to get 3mm.
