Does anyone recognize this bolt?
I just bought a 2000 996 C4 Cabriolet this week. While inspecting the engine compartment I found this bolt (photo) in the rear area of the engine compartment. Can anyone tell me where it goes?

That would be your air cleaner hold-down bolt, you must have an aftermarket air cleaner installed...

Since that is really a "hot engine compartment air intake", it is not an upgrade and may cause engine problems. Over time it has been determined the best air intake for our cars is the OEM style air filter box with cold air intake. Our cars were tuned to the original air intake.

That said, yeah, if you want to spend money on an intake, get a factory 997.1 3.8 intake. They improve the looks at least!
