Default GT3 Seat Belt Adjuster Swap

I did not see much info on this so I made a video. If this is not helpful I can edit or delete. Usually people have already had the plastic cover fall off by now.

Replace factory clunky adjuster cage/bracket with slim GT3 part. 996-803-541-00-01C

The GT3 part is just an all around better design even without factoring in the cost savings. Made the swap a couple years ago when I changed out my seat belts.

Those seats are awesome. I saw your thread but it didn't really have details on how to remove the old adjuster. It may be simple to some but I search before I break something, hah.

Yeah, I think one of mine was busted or basically falling out on its own. Took all the mystery out of the job. Your video is definitely helpful. The over-engineering (and resulting price) that went into the original still blows my mind.

Defiantly doing this! My passenger side cover has a tendency to magically losen itself!

Thanks for the tip!

Glad it was helpful. The factory piece is a train wreck.

I bought a set of these only to find my 99 already had them. So odd... the previous owner didn't modify a single other thing on the car.

Thanks again. I just put the set in the car. Big difference actually. I always hit the stock seatbelt adjuster with my GT3 buckets. Now my seat doesn't hit, which is pretty cool for such a cheap part. I did the passenger side although it didn't need it. That seat doesn't slide back enough with the cage in the car.

@freddworks posted this on his IG and sent me the PN when I commented on the post. Wish I knew this existed because I broke mine when removing the cover during my Teq cage install. Pelican has these for 4.75ea…. Needless to say a set is on the way to my house.

I replaced mine sometime back.
They only had them in black, and not Metropol Blue, but black is close enough.

I broke one of the factory adjusters on my nice 6TT. I ordered a set of GT3 adjusters (2 sets, actually, one for each 6TT) from Gaudin. The parts manager called me up and told me they were not the correct ones for the car, but he understood completely why I ordered them as the original over are over $100 each. I should probably actually install them, as they have been sitting in the car's glovebox for a few years now.

I took mine off a long time ago and left it that way. Saves weight! Now I'm commando.
