Smile I like this new side light

The PO changed the amber side lights to clear but I found these new side lights that are black when off, amber when on, and (drum roll) sweeping when flashing.

Clear is good

Black is better

Amber light

and, it adds 10 hp when blinking!

I like 'em, but I need another set of side markers like another hole in my head, lol. Maybe when my current ones die I would switch to these. Hmmmmmm..
Thanks

Looks great while off IMO, but the sweeping effect on a car of this vintage just looks like low-budget tuner nonsense. I assume those are the NSLUMO ones on Amazon.

I was thinking that too, but I wonder if we would feel the same with enough changes. If all the lights were changed out/refreshed/updated - would the "vintage" still be the same?

on my 944, the old headlights were updated h4 units - but that just improved the light, it didn't change the vintage look so I wouldn't add something like this. But here I'm not so sure because with the right balance, it can update the whole car. Maybe. (I know, pointless stream-of-consciousness post, but I agree with your point AND I like the light!)

I dislike the LED options for the 996 tails as well. Personal preference, but I've seen very few changes in that vein that make much sense. I almost picked up the NSLUMO sidemarkers myself, as I liked the look when off, and they do have a non-sweeping version (just lights the line up). but even that irked me a bit as it looks too modern for the car.

I would like to combine the lighting element (without the sweep - simple on/off) with classic ambers. That would modernize the lighting while keeping the stock look.

I like how they look.
But I think the clear ones match my Seal Grey fairly well.
If my car was black, I’d consider getting a set.

Thanks for the info, pick one up last night to go with the seal grey car which has rear LED lights that work great for night visibility.

I think it looks pretty cool especially since your car is black.

For those that don't want to buy a new side marker, you can just use headlight tint. I did it on my 964.
