How old are tires safe?
With tire prices going up like everything else. I have a set of tires that are 9 years old. Can I still trust them. Maybe after soaking them in 303 for a few weeks???

It depends on how they were stored.
It's an Ahhrenius equation based on time and temperature and UV light exposure.
In a cool dark basement way up in the snowbelt for 9 years, they might still be good.
But id sure want to run some hardness tests on that rubber.
Short answer - probably too old except for use on a boat dock as bumpers. .

I just swapped out 6 year old tires that came with my c2 to brand new tires today and OmG what a difference. I had the shocks and some suspension parts done last week and the tires were far more noticable of a difference .
that doesnt answer your how safe question, but ride quality was night and day. Canyon driving the old tires felt like running on hard plastic...
