Friggin RMS!!
Despite my best efforts to make an installation tool, I can’t get the RMS to go in straight. I’ve seen guys just beat these in with ease, tried that too. If I tap on the shallow end it just pushes the deep end deeper. Thoughts?

As a follow on…. I had a victor reinz seal that came in a rebuild kit I bought. It installed perfectly. Should I leave it or run to the dealership and give it a go with the Porsche part??

You really need to get the right tool for this job, otherwise you will be doing it again. There is 3-D file that will allow you to print your own tool. You may be able to rent one here, just post a question to the forum.
Good luck!

U need a peanut butter jar lid, 4 washers and 4 bolts. The seal has to be pulled in by the bolts. No way to tap it on evenly.
Depending on how it looks from the bad install would determine if a new one was needed but when in doubt replace.

here is a picture of my set up, I only tried tapping after the seal was crooked. At any rate, I think I’m going to run to the dealer, get a new seal and give it another shot after I was successful putting the Reinz in.

Sorry didnt see the bolts. Yea that should work, operator error ? Less turns on each bolt as u pull it in?
Sometimes u just need to walk away for an hour and come back to it.
