Car didnt start after refueling
Hi All,
I filled up my gas tank today and my car wouldn't start. I cranked it a good 6 times and i wasnt hearing any combustion so i know it wasnt getting fuel. Finally i pushed the accelerator all the way down and cranked for about 5 seconds and it finally started. I had gotten the ecu throwing code P0446, but i had read up on it and most suggested the gas cap which is on the way. Anyone have any experience with this issue?

I am sure it is unlikely to be the same issue. But mine would run intermittently. ran fine if i sprayed starting fluid. It turned out the issue was the fueld pump electrical connect was burning out and made intermittent connection. It would run fine than not run at all. I replaced both the pump and the distributor with the fuel gauge sender on it. they both looked pretty burned, which explained why my guage was off a bit. mighe not be the same, but given the age maybe worth a look. Takes about an hour to replace if you have the parts.

Hard starting
Sounds like you have excess fuel instead of none.
Your purge valve may be the culprit.
one way to check is to clamp off the hose going to intake from said valve. If the engine starts that’s your problem.

I had this issue on my old 996.2 and replacing the fuel vent valve located near the filler fixed it. You don't mention what car you have?
