Default "Fixed" driver door, now car doesn't manually unlock

Hey all, I had an issue with my driver side door. The cable snapped so I was unable to open the door from the inside. I ordered a new cable and followed a tutorial to replace it, and everything looked to be great again. That is, until my car went into sleep mode. So then I followed a tutorial that says when it's in sleep mode, you have to unlock the door with the key. No problem, I go to unlock it with the key and nothing happens. So I guess I messed up something when fixing the cable on my door lock.

So anyone have any idea what I could have done wrong? When I turn the key to unlock it simply does nothing, makes no noise, just turns.

Thanks!

Did you have to remove the lock mechanism from the door? If so did the rod connecting the lock cylinder to the door latch become disconnected? If not, make sure your battery voltage is good (12.8volts). I had the issue of the door latch not working on one of my cars due to low voltage. I charged the battery and the latch worked again. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I did have to remove the large thing to get to the cable to replace it, not sure what the parts are all called. I suppose it's possible that something became disconnected. One thing is though, the key fob works perfectly fine for unlocking the door (when not in sleep mode of course). It shouldn't be a battery voltage issue, I did have mine fully charged up and still not working, even after a long drive when I tested it no luck. I guess I'll have to take this thing apart again, just not 100% sure what to look for.

There is a rod that connects the lock cylinder to the door latch. It is easy to miss getting it properly connected when reinstalling the latch mechanism. Search you tube for 996 door latch replacement videos.
