Porsche Regeneration Valve from Throttle Body for Fuel Vapor System
1999 996 coupe with 122K miles. P1124 and P1126 codes reappear after deleting and only driving a few miles. Car runs fine and no white smoke. I'm assuming that I have a throttle body leak somewhere. Thought it might be the valve that connects charcoal canister to throttle body. Attached a picture of the valve below.
My understanding is this valve would be closed at all times except when power is put to it. With a hand vacuum pump attached to either end of this valve, it will not hold vacuum. Should it hold vacuum? Could this be my problem? The vacuum bleeds off fairly rapidly. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes it should hold vacuum, but that "may" not be the source of your fault codes....( a small leak can be compensated for by the DME/fuel trims)...
You need to use a Durametric or PIWIS to get the TRA/RKAT values that are present AFTER the code is set ...also the MAF kg/h value....
A positive value of 0.36 means there is a lean condition ( possible vacuum leak) more than can adjusted for....
A negative value of -0.36 means there is a rich condition ( possible MAF sensor) more than can be adjusted for...
Codes P1124 P1126 are usually accompanied by negative -0.36 and is caused by a MAF Sensor that is dirty and sending a higher kg/h value than is expected..( should be about 15kg/h at warm idle A/C off)

Thanks for the response. I did originally change out my MAF after trying to clean it to no avail, but El cheapo here did replace with non-Bosch MAF. It does seem to be "working" to some degree based on my cheap Bluetooth scanner. But perhaps that's my problem. I'll try to post the MAF outputs that I am seeing. Thanks again.

Our engines are particularly sensitive to the MAF sensor. Basically everything running depends on the MAF sensor, so don't go "el cheapo". I recommend the OE Porsche MAF sensor. Yes, it is expensive but worth it.
