What's up everyone?? New video time! Things are going smoothly and am honored to have Jake Raby take a special interest in this project. He has provided invaluable advice above and beyond what I got from his AWESOME video series. If you're on the fence, hopefully this video series convinces you of how manageable this can be with the right instructions. Enjoy!!

Well here’s a sneak peek then. @lnengineering Jake may hit you up to rent me a ring filer because I’ve spent all my money on all the the parts you’re making me buy. AOS hoses are NOT cheap. MAF, caps and filler tubes. 💸 This engine is going to be literally new.
BTW is still do not have my block as the coating vendor is taking longer than expected. I am now at 14 weeks.

Making progress! Putting the front console on before you install the crankcase half is GENIUS! Also setting your thermostat to 72 degrees also slows the clock on the RTV curing. No 911 video this week but I am rescuing a 2015 Chevy Sonic LTZ after a couple of Gen-Z'ers took over my garage and made me fix it. Hope you'll watch it and get a good chuckle watching the next generation work on an internal combustion engine.

Looks like the yoke is working out well.

OMFG it really is dude! Thank you again for the hook up! Because of the savings I was able to buy the "IMS Solution" from FSI. Otherwise I would have had to go back, hat in hand, to The Bank of Yogi-Mama for more money and that would have been bad.

Happy Halloween!! I got rid of the Gen-Z kids who took over my garage last week and am back on the engine assembly. Again, thanks to the Jake video series things have been going very well. The existing IMS is another story. The EPS bearing doesn't used a snap ring so I have to source one and the center stud isn't standard. It's almost like they intentionally made it difficult for us to remove it. Next week will be the bank 2 pistons so good times! Enjoy.
REMOVED VIDEO. It contains TMI. I'll re-drop once I sterilize it more. I need to be more careful on presenting this information w/o giving away the secrets that make this series so valuable. Apologies.

Curious, have you considered the larger Porsche bearing, especially since you have the engine apart? Seems like that is a more robust solution.

Thanks for the link to vwalley. I have reached out to him.
In the video I see that you coated the case permittee bolts with blue Loctite. Is this to refresh the factory encapsulation? I was considering doing this as I didn’t see any other reason to replace perfectly serviceable blots/screws.
