They range in price. I've paid $150 for more basic and I believe around $400 with bore scope (I might be off on the latter). Either is worth it before buying a car though

Default You should go see the green monster.

But it appears the Redsox are entertaining the Yankees Thursday night, and although I'm not a Yankee fan, I have never been to Fenway Park, and it's very hard to resist not checking off two bucket list items in one trip. So maybe I'll take in the game Thursday night, grab a cheap hotel room afterwards and start the trip home fresh on Friday. Let's see what the weather looks like. I'd rather not drive home in the rain.
. You should definitely see Yankees vs Red Sox. Also get to see the monsters. Not just the green monster, Judge and Stanton are pretty big monsters. I saw the Yankees Astros last Thursday here in Houston, unfortunately my beloved Yankees lost. I have been extremely lucky this year, I saw the Yankees in May with my mom and brother in Tampa and last week in Houston. Yeah I know I’m weird Yankees fan, cowboys fan and i live in Houston 😂. You should enjoy your trip. I was quoted $300 last year for an invasive ppi.

Usually billed as hourly time and typically a shop will quote 2/3 hours, around $300 in my experience in a metro area. (PPI's in San Francisco and Las Vegas.) Then if you want extra stuff like leakdown tests, borescoping, etc. that will be extra time added on and will be quoted based on availability. Only caveat is I wouldn't recommend to expect at a minute's notice for a mechanic to have 4 hours to put his tools down and do an invasive PPI... You might need to call around a bit for a last-minute appointment.

Totally agree with this. I would expect 2-3 hours charged at the standard shop rate plus the cost of an oil filter and oil to top off. However, I would expect the shop rate to be between $200 and $250 in Boston and expect around $500 for the PPI. When I got a PPI in Seattle in January it was around $450, and I had to schedule it over a week in advance, as they were very busy.

Also, definitely go to the Sox game. Fenway is lots of fun. Also, I can't remember the name, but there is a website that will show the view from your seat, so you don't get stuck sitting behind a pillar.

oh crap I bought tickets to the Jays/Bosox series later this month. Didn’t even think of that! I don’t recall seeing “obstructed view”…

Got a ticket for Fenway. Section 164. Nice view of the Green Monster. I'm in row PP, which you can see in this 360* when it rotates to the rear. https://www.rateyourseats.com/fenway...sections/LB164

Great to see you decided to make the drive. I just recently bought a new 996 and drove it back 1,600km. Loved every minute of it and will definitely be good memories in the future. I'm sure you remember this trip for some time and the trip to the red sox certainly the icing in the cake.

enjoy the game and i guess your drive tomorrow. Yesterday the Yankees were on steroids 16 runs 22 hits. I’m hoping to get back home from the beach in time so I can get to watch the game on MLB. Then Friday I’ll get to drive the 99 and Saturday the turbo to cars and coffee. Have a safe trip home

My first time spending more than a few seconds in a 911. In a word...speechless...Now I get it. I spent a few minutes washing MA, CT, NY and NJ off the car. Third best day of my life after the birth of my kids.

I know cabs are a little poo-poo'd by the purists, but that ride would not have nearly been as fun with a roof over my head.

Is it just me, or are 911s WRX magnets?

I had some concerns about the 19" wheels, but as you can see in the pics, my other car is a Wrangler. This car rides like a luxury sedan compared to that.

Nice looking car.
I've finally come around to liking lobster fork wheels on a 996.
Cab's aren't bad cars, just make certain to keep the drains clean and pray you never have to replace a rear window regulator.

I think you will now be addicted like thf rest of us.The more you drive these cars the more you will like them. Then the extra power want will come along and latter yet you may want to get another. Great looking car.

I believe I'm a gonner already.

I haven't formed an opinion yet on wheels. These are a little dinged up and I was thinking about getting them refurbished. I used to be in the autobody business and still have connections.

In the mean time I've been looking at other styles. Crazy the price of Porsche wheels!
