By law the alcohol made for fuel has to be denatured so it isn’t possible for human consumption.

With your engineering skills I bet you can turn it into a whiskey stil! 😊

I feel like there are options, but the biggest issue will be infrastructure. We could keep burning fossil fuels, but we need a way to make them carbon neutral (like wood for example). The other way is to make it much more effective (fusion & nuclear). Having most of our current technology (and I mean almost everything) based on non-renewable / finite resources is not a good idea - business wise or ecologically.

An agent is added to make the product denatured. Ironically the FSI property used to be home to my grandfather’s liquor operation. He had stills here till the mid 1980s when he finally retired.. He never had a job.. or a drivers license, or a social security number… I still have his mash recipes.
but the fuel operation will be ran by the book.

Jake, all whiskey joking aside, what are your thoughts on what Porsche is doing with biofuel?

More marketing hype, I think.
Everyone is about talking today, there's less doing. I don't sit around and read, I'm too busy breaking the rules.
I don't follow anything about new cars, even a 991 is too new for me to be interested in.

Sounds like the acquisition of farm equipment and the ability to make biofuel suggests you are "prepping" for the next phase of the mess we are in.

I've been making Biodiesel for my farm equipment for years. Nothing like plowing a field smelling Chinese food, or fried chicken for hours. The issue is that I cut it with methanol, so I need to be able to make the alcohol, to make the biodiesel.
Yeah, when they cut off our fuel supply to abolish ICE powered cars, I'll be the only guy left on the road, but of course they'd call that tax evasion, since the fuel isn't taxed. They have a testicular vice in place.

I am a little more optimistic that biofuel will become a mainstream reality in combination with more fuel efficiency thru hybrids and yes, electric powered vehicles for local travel. Looking forward to watching the progress that is made with the different racing series, which oil companies push back, which none have so far, and ultimately how and when it's rolled out for consumption. It will however, increase demand for specific grains which will move us towards creating more farmland. It will also force the oil industry to become multi-faceted energy companies thru R&D and acquisition. It will also force huge change and innovation in the auto manufacturing and auto component manufacturing business. But that's another topic.

Keep plugging. We need your innovation.
