Exclamation Buying a Factory Executive Car

Just looking for opinions or maybe even personal experiences.
I'm in search of my car and have the ability to get my Porsches factory direct. At the moment I am mainly interested in possibly buying a factory exec. car. What are the pros/cons ,if any, of such vehicles and would they be a good deal? Just curious..any info will only help my endevours.

Thanks-

Buying a Factory Executive Car is just like buying a a private party used car I'd say since they would not treat/drive the car with any more or less respect

Many Factory Executive Cars are not cars driven only by Porsche Executives. They are cars that were used in the Porsche Driving Experience program on race tracks and typically have 5000 or so track miles on them.

I would not want to buy a car that had been raced for it's first 5000 miles and further, I think that representing these cars as Executive Driven is misleading.

Hoehn Porsche in Oceanside CA had a dozen of these "Executive Driven" cars which were all used on the Skip Barber track for racing by students in the Porsche Driving Experience. They are listed on Hoen's Porsche web site under the "new cars" - 2003 but in fact they are used track cars.

There was a recent thread about the Hoehn cars - dealer was saying they were "executive" cars (which is what they told me when I called about them) but at the last minute when someone was buying one they were presented with a disclaimer to sign saying they had been used in the PDE on the track.

One "executive car" with a dealer by me was a loaner car for their many customers. Personally, I stay away from any used car unless I can be eye to eye with the previous owner.

I've got a good friend who's a pro athlete. He has a deal with Audi, where they let him drive an RS6 for the several months he's in Europe, then he gives it back. I'm pretty sure they call it an "executive car". He's got some good stories of finding the electronically limited top speed of around 175 MPH on the Autobahn, rallying it in the snow, etc.

I'm not sure if you consider that stuff abuse. If I had that car in those conditions, I'd do the same thing, especially if I owned it. But if I was buying a car used, I'd be a little uneasy if I knew it had been driven that way. If you're not comfortable buying a used car that might have been driven hard, then you probably shouldn't buy an "executive" Porsche.
