Found a 3 spoke steering wheel for my 996 and ready to purchase but got a question. On the centre piece it had like a stitching border around the logo. Some other 3 spoke wheels I’ve come across don’t have that.

Is that like a certain model 996 it came on? Guessing no issues fitting onto a cab 3.4. Thank you

Full leather pkg would be my guess.

This is a 3.4 cab and I have full leather and mine does not have stitching around the logo. Hope this helps!

Down souths picture looks like one of mine in grey. My other car does NOT have the stitching. Not sure if that s due to full leather airbag or just model. Either way they are interchangeable!

ive come across a thread where someone mentioned there is a standard and sport 3 spoke wheel. Sport version is like the one in pic with stitching .. not sure ..

Then it must be the difference in full leather vs non. I know full leather makes a big difference in the overall look of the interior. Too bad the sunvisors aren't

That’s the leather airbag cover for the 3 spoke steering wheel. There’s also the one with the vinyl/plastic cover... The wheel itself is still leather and is the same regardless off the airbag... I originally had the vinyl covered airbag and eventually replaced it with a leather one (that I found for a reasonable price).

My vinyl one actually looks better than the leather one width the stitching. Maybe because the leather one has a couple spots where the leather is bubbled or come loose. I’ll take pics when I’m back home. On vacay in Florida right now

That is an option available for any 996, independently of full leather or not. Is the steering wheel center cover in leather (the same way you could order almost any piece of trim covered in leather)
