thats looks amazing. the seats - what are they? have you done a thread on the work you've done to it?
thank you they are a pair of Braums I picked up used, recovered and did some foam /support work and made brackets for. The plaid I found online by typing in auto upholstery plaid fabric. I think the pattern is Recaro or vw or both. I was pretty picky with colors I wanted and right finding a pattern I liked that didn't look like a chess board with squares or 1 dominant color. I'm pretty pleased with how they came out.
I installed a set of Braums in a Millennium Edition a couple of years ago.
When I saw the Braum price I didn’t expect much.
But they seemed like nice seats.
I sold him my Planted mounts because he didn’t have the required mounts when he showed up to have them installed.
I hadn’t, and still haven’t l, bought some replacement seats for my 996 yet.
Recovered Braums sounds like a good idea.

I don't have much experience or knowledge of race seats / aftermarket seats but of the ones I have had which included Recaro, corbeau, and sparco. I couldn't physically feel or see the hundreds of dollars separating any of them. I definitely didn't feel any were superior. I'm sure it comes down to materials, weight, strength, track rated, fire protection but I also think alot of it is the name brand. I have seen some high end expensive carbon fiber parts that were not even close to the 2k more they charged over the other manufacturers actually worse than a few. Some companies that make products for Porsche seem to have established them selves as the brand to buy and charge for it. So many Pcars all have the same wheels and seats from the same companies and have for years. Just my opinion there's plenty of parts that are superior over cheaper comparisons but there's plenty of ones that are a real value. This isn't a fast car or track car. Just my obsession lol. I went with these because I liked the shape of the seat. I knew there wasn't a seat out there that would be the colors and patterns I wanted I looked through all my options and would be covering whatever I bought. Even if money wasn't a factor the seats are one thing on my car that would have still be the same. I'm very happy with how it's turned out. Love that car lol.
I had to go to a client site on Tuesday.
I got a parking space in front of their 29 floor building in downtown Houston.
It’s across from public urban park with lots of Spring Breakers.
I glanced out from the receptionist area and spotted someone photographing my car.
Right after this the girl across the street walked over, took off her coat, and was photographed standing in front of my car while holding up car keys.
I got a kick out of that.
I'd be afraid to get a flat or damage a rim on the roads in Houston. At the very least I'd lose a filling.
Were those the set that were for sale recently in AZ? Nice pickup either way. I see you're in Murrieta. I'm just north of you in Corona.
Yup! Having them refinished at Wheel Enhancement in LA. Wow didn't realize you were so close. Love your car, we should maybe do a GA3R photoshoot sometime soon.
