Default AOS question

My AOS, factory Porsche, replaced 25,000 miles ago (4 years). Total, 81,000 on my car now.
I am having gearbox removed for Clutch/Flywheel work.
I think I should go ahead and replace AOS again as preventive maintenance?
Thoughts?
Thanks
David

There's a gentleman here who has created an upgraded AOS, called the "UAOS." Should be easy to find on here

I say definitely yes, replace the AOS. Get it from Porsche. No aftermarket el cheapo AOS. You can retrofit the UAOS later.

Replace it with a UAOS now.
Then if it ever fails, no need to spend hours trying to replace it (or retrofit UAOS) when the engine is installed.
If the UAOS diaphragm fails while the engine is in the car, it will take under 5 minutes to replace the diaphragm on the UAOS compared to 4-6 hours or more replacing the factory AOS.
Now is DEFINITELY the time to do it!

And if you order the UAOS before the end of the month, you get the upgraded Aluminum accumulator in addition to the sealed AOS, separate diaphragm unit and hoses/fittings - all for about $500... Sweet deal!

hmmmm.
I am on record saying I wouldn’t put his 3D printed part on my engine. The machined aluminum one would be a valid option for factory part IMO. Hopefully he’d still sell me one....

I just replaced my original, 54k mile, 20 year old, fine working AOS while doing the Clutch/IMSB. With your miles and 4 years I'd still probably do it. While in there I found my oil cooler leaking coolant slightly at the o-rings so you might want to check that, or even just replace the o-rings anyway for $5 and 30 minutes.

Reach out and ask him! I'm pretty sure he would, as he's running a business...
