I have replaced my air/oil separator twice so far and the new one just went bad again both times the replacement part lasted only a week
I used an aftermarket URO brand part! How is this possible my car just passed CA smog test the other day so I don't think I have an engine problem
or do I however this time I'm using an OEM part! Does anyone know why it's doing this or is the URO brand just plain crap?

The factory AOS & the Üro AOS are known to fail, even recently installed ones.
Go with the UAOS, and never spend time/money replacing it again!
The part that fails(diaphragm) is located in an easily accessible location on the UAOS.

Seems like the stock one is a possibility. How long can one expect a stock AOS to last after installing? Mine doesn't smoke at this time, but I know it's in my future. Hoping I can wait until I need to drop the engine for a IMS and do everything at once.
Thx!

are they still in business? The link for UAOS in the rennlist thread is dead (404). I also can't find them by doing a search.

Yes, @Porschetech3 is definitely still in business.
The link in the ad is broken, use this one: https://ultimateaos.com/
The diaphragm(flow control) has about the same life expectancy of (or better than) a Porsche\Uro unit.
It is a well tested OEM diaphragm used by VW/Audi.
The first difference is that when a Porsche or Uro unit fails, the entire AOS has to be replaced.
This is VERY labor intensive.
When a UAOS diaphragm fails, it takes about 5 minutes or less to replace.
The second difference is that when a Porsche or Uro unit fails, there is no warning, and an engine is in danger of hydro locking., which can cause catastrophic engine failure.
When a UAOS diaphragm fails, there is an accumulator to prevent hydro locking, and a warning light on the dash to let you know it has failed and the diaphragm needs to be replaced.
The UAOS costs more than a Porsche or Uro AOS, but change it once and never worry about the AOS again.

Hi guys, we sell just over 200 of URO Parts Oil Separator 996 107 026 51 annually, and have had only two returned as defective in the last 12 months (and those could be a couple years old). Regardless, we asked our engineers to check into it. According to the engineering documents, we're using a silicone diaphragm just like OEM.
If anyone bought one of our units within the last two years and it failed, just send an email with your order confirmation and details to "sales at uro parts dot com" and we'll be happy to set up a warranty exchange.

AOS
When “just like OEM” is not good enough.

Sorry but I find that hard to believe given I've gone through 2 of them in a month thank God for Skip and his UAOS because the labor involved in replacing
it is such a PITA I would never trust a URO AOS again warranty or not, my money back would be the only warranty I'd be interested in!
