That steering wheel is made by Momo. They should have a steering wheel that fits your car. Note that you will lose the airbag and may to fiddle with some wiring to get the horn to work. I don't know what other electrical nannies may be lurking inside your steering wheel that require some modification.
Momo wheels are great. I had one on my 83 944, but of course that car was stone-age electrically compared to the 996.
If you don't want the yellow "rally mark" at the top. (I have no idea what that stripe is actually called.. if you do, please let me know!) Then the Momo Prototipo is another popular choice for Porsche. https://www.vividracing.com/-p-151449683.html
And per the above, it will fit, you will just need to buy the appropriate adapter for your car. Momo should be able to help you out with that. You'll need to deactivate your airbag light for your steering wheel with a Durametric or similar tool.
P.S. Sorry my links are from all over the place, I figure you can buy it all from one store but I just found these links with some quick googling.

Thre is a guy from Britain on youtube his page is called TheThrottleCable, he has a good tutorial on adapting this type of wheel to your 996 along with lots of other mods he has done, very much worth a look.
Does it bother you driving without an airbag and does the wheel feel too close to your body now?
It doesn't me as I have harnesses in the car so airbags weren't going to do much anyway. The wheel is further from the turn signal and it does not self cancel just FYI.
Answers to the most common questions I’ve received:
I‘ve driven lots of cars without airbags.
I trust my seat belts and don’t trust a 19 year old airbag.
My horn, turn signals work as expected. ( including self cancelling turn signals)
I can see my gauges just fine.
My airbag light has never come on.
My car passed the Texas Safety Inspection with it installed.
No I’m not selling the old Metropol Blue 3-Spoke wheel, but I do have an old Black 4-spoke wheel I’d be willing to part with.
No need to deactivate the airbag with a Durametric, I used the resistor Included with my hub adapter from Carnewal.

THIS. I have an aversion to things that blow up and that includes explosions to the head region. I am a big fan of seatbelts and have noticed that essentially all people who crash cars for a living, ie race car drivers, use seatbelts a lot and that hardly any have airbags in the cars they expect to crash. For people who exercise their rights to be free to choose not to wear a seatbelt things are different and, unlike dinosaurs, there are a lot of those folks around, (see the daily news). For those people I do not think a Momo is a good idea.
I'm not recommending anything here, just a casual observation.
Proceed at your own risk.
Oh, and wear a seat belt...
Got the same graphite grey interior and like the momo & carbon look. What manufacturer did you use for your carbon fiber interior and would you recommend them?

I believe they are whatever manufacturer Porsche used back in the day. I don’t know.
most parts I like a lot, others like steering wheel and trim on dash up by windshield, not so much.
