In the next ten years we'll have different phones too and we can all by the next generation of this, whatever that may be. I'll be even more lost by that time on how these things operate. The Becker comes out and goes into a box saved for the next owner.

I am still waiting to hear if this supports a rear camera and its lighting options. So far I have heard nothing about supporting a camera, and heard that lighting is white with an option to orange, b ut wondering if other colours can be done to match other buttons in the car?

The way I see it, the new PCCM+ unit does not offer a backup camera option. Factory backup cameras are linked to parking sensors to show superimposed graphics and tones to alert drivers of distances from objections. I don't see this in the kit and so I would say it doesn't support it.

It may just offer a video option without sensors as most after market ones do, though.

But if it has no camera option, then its a pass for me and I'll keep my Pioneer that does have it.

Does anyone have a parts # for the upper cubby? That's to replace the disc caddy in the stock dash with PCM.

has anyone installed the single-din Porsche unit in a 996? I can't find any pics of an install.

I have the console delete - can't move HVAC down below, so I could only install a single-din

debating the Porsche unit and the Blaupunkt Bremen

^^^ According to the Porsche Classic PCM site, the single-din is not compatible with the 996, only earlier models.

I don't know that that's correct though. That youtuber above checked with his dealer and they told him it is compatible. I think it might just be that version isn't targeting 996 owners.

I guess this is one of those cases where you get three people to read the exact same thing and get three different opinions. I scoured the site when that single DIN unit first came out, and I found something that says specifically it does not work with our cars. Unless you were to totally replace the most system. It's not designed to work with our fiber optic system.

cool, I plan to replace the MOS system - would have to with either the Porsche or the Blaukpaunt ... so it is doable!
hummmm - this will make me toss and turn at night deciding... haha
