Default What's this thing? Why?

I'm wondering what this arm is on the lower control arm of my '01 C2. I'm guessing it is a sensor that tells the PSM the position of the lower control arm, right? But, why is there no similar sensor on the other side? Wouldn't the PSM need to know the position of both the right and left lower control arms?

It's for your Lintronic lights. It's the lever that determines the height of the car when you first start the car. Drivers side only.

There is one on the rear driver side as well. Again - for automatic headlight leveling.

THANKS! It makes sense now. And, it's another example of how sharp the Porsche engineers are. I've rebuilt US and UK cars, but this is the first Porsche I've played with so it's fun exploring and learning.

dang, you guys beat me to it. I know what this is because I discovered my rear bracket was broken a month or two ago. I bought the new bracket and fortunately there was noting wrong with the rod, because that's more expensive.
