Default Restoring My 996

Hey all! I run a PC Hardware YouTube channel with a decent amount of subs (BPS Customs), and I recently started a side project called BPS Garage. It's just going to be another creative outlet for me, and I'll be talking about the cars I own, have owned, or want to own, as well as showing me working on cars (which I'm hardly qualified to even attempt, but might as well try!). No all videos will be about my 996 911, but the first one is. It's just documenting my purchase as well as what I've done to the car since. It's up on the channel now, I hope you enjoy it!

Fun video - but "restoration" is a bit of a stretch...

Here's a Porsche that needs restoration.

Nah, that just needs a lick of paint and some wheels. and glass. maybe a few trim bits. the IMS and bore-scoring have probably been sorted already.

How did you prep the console before painting?

I enjoyed your video since I'm doing a similar rejuvenation of a Lapis Blue '01 C2 cab. On the rear bumper, you showed where the paint on the left "pad" was cracked and then said you'd have to spray the bumper. That one part can be easily removed from the bumper with an allen wrench from the bottom so it could be stripped and sprayed.

I looked into this - it would have cost me ~$200 to repair one one them. They both needed to be painted, plus thre were scratches on the bumper. It only cost me $800 to have the whole bumper done including both bumperettes.

Yes, do the whole bumper then. And, I'll try to remember those two lumps are called "bumperettes".
