We looked for an orange 996 but they only made a few 996.1s in 1A8 Zanzibar Red and very few 996.2s, so in the future we'd like to repaint our 8A3 Orient Red 996.2 a shade of orange.

This is the color we wanted 1A8 Zanzibar Red. It's beautiful but not the best orange for us anyway.

In researching orange Porsches, Volkswagens, and other mfgs we realized the color code should always be posted because owners and manufacturers use different names for the same color. The below website is fun and educational and it lists almost all color codes for every vehicle produced.

Most 996s aren't collectible so they can be modified such as changing color, but I would keep your magnificent and rare Zanzibar Red 1A8 stock and with minimum mileage.

Graphics in the link you provided look great. We have lots of projects and if we can work it in we will get paint samples to see what the various shades of orange actually look like (pictures on computer are not accurate), then change the color of our 996 to a bright orange.

I think I would like it more than my Orient Red Metallic

I wish I knew how to color photo shop it on an image of my car to see it.
I would also color match the calipers, skip plate and my Roll Bar.
That would be perfect imo

My long term plan has been to do a repaint after everything else is sorted. Always been biased toward blues, but hot damn those oranges look good.
