Plus one on the pelican parts, plus if you add the blue tooth phone/satellite/usb gizmo in the cigarette lighter it’s a very neat look, short charging cord.

Question for any using the Rennline mount. Does it have phone low enough (in my case iPhone 12) so it leaves enough space for access to plug in a usb charger and cables in the cigarette lighter right above where it mounts?

My former phone, and iPhone 11 Pro had plenty of room for the lightning cable to plug in.

I also have a question. Has anyone come up with a way to use the Rennline mount with an iPhone 15 Pro (MagSafe)? The magnet on the mount does not hold the phone, at least through the case.

Apparently I have been under the "not looking for a cell phone mount" rock for the past year. I have the Rennline mount, but it is apparently not compatible with my new phone/case combination, without me sticking a steel plate to the back of the case, which I do not want to do.

The Yaz mount looks like it would be a better solution any way you look at it. I will look through the thread for the link to the mount website and get something going with Yaz.

Let me know if you have any questions Doug. The website is rennclassic.com

Most popular option has been the 17mm ball mount. And it seems most people use the ESR Halolock magsafe charger (available on Amazon). I'm also going to be testing out some of the magsafe stuff from Quadlock (https://www.quadlockcase.com/collections/mag) in the next month or so.

Thanks a bunch Yaz. Order placed. I'll figure out the phone to 17mm ball mount interface once I receive the dash mount. It is a little of a conundrum for me. I don't really need the MagSafe charging due to my wired Apple CarPlay. (I know already obsolete). I would like to find something compatible with the ball mount that will have enough magnetic power to hold the phone securely. Any suggestions? Or maybe I should move this over to your thread?

Thank again all,
Doug

Great! This is one (
Amazon Amazon
) I'm using in both my 996 and 4Runner that I mentioned above. I have had the phone fall a couple times in the 996 when hitting large potholes (as in large enough I'm more concerned about tire/wheel damage). For anything stronger you're probably looking at a mechanical mount.

I'm using the magnet from the Rennline unit. It's just a magnet, no MagSafe-ness about it. I haven't had a phone fall but it does rotate.

I got one of these from Amazon for my Caterham. That magnet feels like the hand of god reaching out. I may look to see if it's a 17mm ball.

Which bluetooth phone/sat/usb gizmo are you referring to? Thanks.
