Default 2001 996 C2 Where is my ICV?

New/Old C2 owner
Have a fluctuating idle so I figured I would clean the ICV but, not finding it on this one. Expected it to be on the drivers side of the throttle body. Alas, nothing there. With the electronic throttle, does the ICV reside elsewhere?

Thanks

Default Doesn’t use one

Your model has an electronic throttle (“E-gas”), so it doesn’t have an Idle Control Valve.

U most likely have a vac leak. Check the fill tube and u may want to test the vac with a manometer to see if the aos is still good.

Yes
Had not thought of those two options. Fill tube will feel like it's sucking air in, correct?

Before you do anything else, do an e-gas calibration. Turn ignition to position 1 (not start), wait 60 seconds, do not touch or move the accelerator pedal, turn key to off. Then start like normal. Inspect your oil filler tube carefully for cracks...unhook it from the air box and move it around some to inspect. Make sure the oil filler tube cap is on tight.

Doesnt take much if a leak to mess with the idle. U still may feel good vac at the cap and still have a leak.

i do agree that an e-gas recal should be the first step

There is good vac at the filler tube. Removed it and the car acted like it wanted to die. Ill be doing the calibration tip tomorrow.
I have no white smoke. Can I presume the AOS is sound?
Thanks for assistance

You can not tell anything from (appears to have good vac). U need to buy a manometer and put a fitting in the oil cap and test. U need to see the long and short term fuel, you need to see the map voltage. The car will tell u what u need to know...reading and understanding the outputs is a skill that comes with experience. Once we see what the car has to say some people on this board can help.

If u dont have the tools or the skills to do this all u r doing is wasting time and money.
